Earlier this year Emily Hillier joined us as our Director of Tax Advisory Services, bringing with her a wealth of experience in personal tax. Throughout her career Emily has specialised in property tax, however she has a great deal of knowledge on tax residence status and capital gains tax. Emily has been working with our fantastic tax department to bring her expertise to our client base, so we thought we’d have a little chat with her about her career up to this point and her plans for her new role.
What do you most enjoy about your job?
I enjoy being involved in a variety of tax advisory planning projects, helping clients achieve their plans whilst minimising tax liabilities and staying on top of all the changes that tax has to offer.
What has been the most defining moment in your career to date?
Completing my ATT and CIOT qualifications with all first time passes.
Who would be the dream client?
I enjoy working with a variety of clients, it would be boring if we were all the same! But generally, a client who understands the value that tax advice and planning can provide and appreciates the work done.
How would you want your colleagues or clients to describe you?
I’d like my colleagues and clients to describe me as approachable, knowledgeable, willing to share ideas and work together toward shared goals whilst delivering on commitments.
What do you most want to achieve in your career?
Being the best tax advisor I can be!
